Advancing the educational, social, and emotional needs of gifted children
MISSION STATEMENT


Utah Association for Gifted Children advocates for the diverse population of gifted children in the State of Utah. We advance the understanding of the academic and social/emotional needs of gifted children among community leaders, policy makers, educators and parents. We promote the development of quality services to provide educational opportunities for gifted students. We increase the capacity of educators and parents to be agents of change in their schools and communities and in the lives of gifted children.

Gifted Student Grants


UAGC is pleased to announce a intended to assist gifted students to excel in an area of interest or achievement. Grants will be typically awarded to help finance:


  • an original project which holds promise for the advancement of learning
  • or contributes to a field of endeavor, or an instructional opportunity not available in your school district.


Individual grants will be awarded in amounts up to $500. Click here for more information and the application.

Column for Parents of Gifted
Lisa Von App writes a regular column parents of the gifted will appreciate. You can subscribe to the column for free online by clicking here. She lives in Salt Lake City with her three children. Her gifted son is in the elementary magnet program, which comprises the top academic one percent of the students in the school district. Lisa has a master's degree in communications from Westminster College, and she serves on the Executive Board of the Utah Association for Gifted Children as Vice President of Publications.
