UAGC SCHOLARSHIP FUND UAGC will donate annually to this fund an amount of money to be determined by the Executive Board. This annual donation shall continue until such time that support for participation can be drawn exclusively from the interest of the fund. Officers and members of UAGC are also encouraged to make individual donations to this fund. An amount of money will be donated annually by UAGC from the interest of the UAGC Scholarship Fund (and from UAGC general funds, until the interest of the Scholarship Fund can cover the cost) to any organization(s) offering programs for gifted/talented students. The money will then be distributed to student(s) through that organization to enable that/those student(s) to participate in that organization’s activity. The availability of the scholarship fund will be advertised annually in the UAGC newsletter. Written proposals, following the requirements of the UAGC Request Form, for use of the fund must be submitted to UAGC by March 1 of each year. Distribution of funds will be discussed at the March meeting of the Executive Board; the decision will be made by majority vote of the Executive Board. The first organization to receive the funds will be the Youth Academy of Excellence, in honor of the initial donations to this fund contributed by Joan Wolf. The activities for which the funds are solicited must reach a target population of gifted/talented students. The organization must have acceptable guidelines for designating the student(s) who will receive the scholarship. All funds donated from the UAGC Scholarship Fund must be given to a student(s) for attending the requesting organization’s activities. The requesting organization will give an accounting of the fund’s distribution. The requesting organization will write an article for the UAGC Newsletter, describing the purpose and activities of the organization. The First Vice President of UAGC will facilitate communication between requesters and the Executive Board. |
